A.P. Calculus
A.P. Calculus is unquestionably the class that I've had to study the most for. We have been covering very difficult material, and while most of it is arguably easier than Pre-Calculus, it is more difficult as a whole. I have chosen to do the dual credit option to guarantee that it will go towards my college GPA. I will still have to take the finals, despite being a Prairie State Scholar. Generally, the lessons that we cover take multiple days, and we've even had a section or two take over a week. Because it takes so long for us to understand, by the time the test comes around, it is pretty tough to remember everything that we've covered. In order to maintain a decent grade, I constantly review my notes, go in for additional help quite often, and study more than I normally do for tests and quizzes. The quiz at the bottom is proof of this. I began preparing for this quiz several nights in advance to obtain a satisfactory grade on it. By taking A.P. Calculus, I am getting a lead over some of my peers. I will go into college with one math class alredy done. The University of Eau Claire only requires two math classes for their business students, so I will already have one done. In addition to all of this, by taking an A.P. level course, I am learning to think in different ways. My thinking style is changing in a way that has made some of my other classes easier. I am building study habits that will help me succeed in college and beyond. Although at times I despise taking A.P. Calculus for the difficulty of it, I am glad I chose to take it for the benefits that it offers.
