C3 Club (Students for compassion, care and change)

C3 is a club based off of Rachel's Challenge.  In 2013, C3 was able to help bring Rachel's Challenge to Dakota.  The student body then got to learn about Rachel, a girl that was killed in the Columbine shooting.  She wanted to start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion; thus, C3 was born.  Since then, C3 has done many things.  We have written letters of gratitude to bus drivers, lunch ladies, and janitors.  We have baked desserts to give to these people as well to further express our thanks to them.  We have had several fundraisers such as hat days and the penny wars.  We have also written notes to students who may be struggling and made welcome gift baskets to new students.

Throughout my experience in C3, I have become a better person.  I have been able to spread genuine kindness and compassion to students throughout the school.  These qualities have spread beyond that and into my personal life, too.  I will continue to use these qualities throughout the rest of my life.  The world can be a harsh place, and sometimes people forget that everyone is human and has feelings.  Because of my time in C3, I will try to be as considerate as possible with any aspect of my future and to remain a genuine human being.
