Spanish Club
Although there wasn't a Spanish Club until my sophomore year, I am glad that I joined it. I have been able to learn more about different Spanish cultures and the holidays and activities that they partake in. Sophomore and junior year I was in charge of all of the adverising. This included making posters about upcoming events, writing announcements, and reminding people of certain events. This helped improve my reliability because if I didn't make the posters or do other parts of my job, people weren't going to know. It showed me the importance of communication and how it can affect the outcome of events. As a senior, there is a new Spanish teacher, and with her, we have new rules and a new executive board. I decided not to run for office, simply because I wanted to focus on schoolwork and other clubs that I was already an officer in. However, this decision has not affected my participation in the least because I still attend meetings, help with activities, and think of ideas.
Being in Spanish Club has really made an impact on my life. It taught me necessary communication and advertising skills and the importance of getting things done in a timely manner. Plus, I have learned about some Spanish cultures, and since the country is becoming more and more diverse, I will be much more informed and knowledgeable.
